The Secret Life of a Kingdom Ambassador

By John Posey, February 7, 2024

We have all become familiar with the concepts of public personal branding and public appearances; they play a significant role in social media.  Carefully curated social media images fill our minds with intriguing images and a controlling narrative that someone wants us to see.  That image may or may not represent who the person or brand really is, however.  Eventually, the secret will emerge.

A false image will come to light if a person is a fraud, a phony, a hypocrite, or something other than what they say.  A false image is especially concerning for people claiming to be Christians.  They will be discovered.  It’s kind of like putting deodorant on an unbathed person.  You may be able to cover the smell, but eventually, the stench will come through.

We can observe this false image being a part of many areas of our lives today.  As Christians, we are image-bearers of God and ambassadors of His Kingdom; our secret life must match what other people see.  A public image will eventually take care of itself.  Be concerned that what happens in our secret lives matches what is seen by others.
