Attributes of a Kingdom Ambassador 3

By John Posey, April 30, 2024

A kingdom ambassador simultaneously works in their chosen vocation and is called into full-time ministry. God demonstrates His care for the work that His people do by showing up and being present in the workplace of seemingly ordinary people.  Of the 132 recorded public appearances made by Jesus, 94 percent, or 124 of those, were in workplace settings.

The workplace was a central platform where Jesus met and interacted with people, frequently resulting in a spiritual impact and changed lives.  In the modern church, the Sunday service is considered the central platform, offering the greatest opportunity to change lives.  But Jesus met people where they were and where they worked.  For the greatest impact we can have on the world, we should follow Jesus’ model and go to where the need exists, in the workplace.

Followers of Jesus are instructed to do our jobs as if we were working for Jesus Himself.  “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that [it is] from the Lord [that] you will receive the reward of the inheritance. [It is] the Lord Christ [whom] you serve” (Col 3:23-24 NASB20).
