It is important as Christians that we understand and acknowledge God’s providential nature. God actively orchestrates our lives, using our professions, and constantly placing people in our paths to advance His kingdom.
Much like Jesus’ upside-down kingdom, the providence of God doesn’t make sense to most of the people in the world. But the reality is that God selectively places people, opportunity, and situations in front of us every day. To better participate in His plan, we need to pay attention and look for what may seem to be “coincidental” circumstances, accepting God is at work and seeking our involvement. However, we still need to do our part and act on these opportunities, when presented.
God actively uses our professional networks and those we interact with in the marketplace to providentially connect us with others. The purpose may be to serve or support a fellow believer, to connect others to job opportunities, to bring light into spiritually dark places, or to share the gospel with a colleague. God continually connects us with opportunities to co-labor in the work of building His kingdom.
FaithNet co-hosts quarterly Christian professional networking events in Atlanta. I love being part of these gatherings and watching God’s providence on full display through timely servant connecting and unlikely relationships being developed.
Lean into God’s plan this week and make some providential connections – Thursday, October 10, Christian Professional Networking event at Christ Covenant. This is a great opportunity to build your Christian network, learn netweaving skills (servant connecting), gain faith and work integration tips, and to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ. Blake Rogers is our guest speaker and will share his insightful faith and work story.
